 Haighton Manor is an historic 17th century country house hotel situated just outside Preston, Lancashire. The Manor’s history includes a period under Nicolas Wadsworth of ‘Haighton House’ who was charged with active support of the Jacobite rebellion and all his lands in Cadley, Fulwood and Haighton were seized. His son Joseph Wadsworth was hanged in Liverpool for his involvement. Haighton in the old form of ‘Hoctun’ is mentioned in the Doomsday book.
